AF Systems obtains ETA 26/0091 for AF GRAPHIT FOAM

We are proud to announce an important new milestone for AF Systems: the achievement of ETA 26/0091 for AF GRAPHIT FOAM, our fire-resistant sealing system for service penetrations.

AF GRAPHIT FOAM is a two-component polyurethane foam enhanced with graphite, designed to help restore the fire resistance of building elements penetrated by technical services.
In a building, every service penetration represents a critical point: pipes, cables, cable trays and other technical elements can compromise fire compartmentation if they are not properly sealed.
It is precisely in this context that passive fire protection solutions play a fundamental role, limiting the spread of smoke, flames and hot gases between different compartments.

With the achievement of ETA 26/0091, AF GRAPHIT FOAM confirms its performance as a sealing system for a wide range of penetrations, including:
- insulated and non-insulated plastic pipes;
- insulated and non-insulated metal pipes;
- insulated multilayer composite pipes;
- cables, cable bundles and cable trays.

One of the most significant aspects of this assessment also concerns the variety of supporting constructions on which the product can be installed. AF GRAPHIT FOAM is intended for applications on different types of building elements, including flexible walls, rigid walls, sandwich panel walls, CLT timber walls, rigid floors and CLT timber floors.
This broad range of applications represents a tangible value for designers, contractors, installers and fire protection professionals, who can rely on a versatile, certified and technically advanced solution for managing even complex service configurations.
AF GRAPHIT FOAM is also intended for use as an auxiliary component in AF BRICK sealing systems, as indicated in ETA 21/0580, further expanding the application possibilities within the AF Systems range.
The assessment was carried out in accordance with EAD 350454-00-1104, relating to fire stopping and fire sealing products for service penetrations. Within the scope of ETA 26/0091, key performance characteristics were assessed, including:
- fire resistance;
- VOC emissions;
- product durability.

AF GRAPHIT FOAM is also specified for environmental conditions under use category Type Y1, according to EAD 350454-00-1104: semi-exposed applications at temperatures below 0°C with exposure to UV radiation.

This result confirms AF Systems’ ongoing commitment to the research, development and certification of increasingly reliable solutions for passive fire protection.
For us, innovation means offering products that are not only high-performing, but also documented, verified and supported by a rigorous technical process. It means providing the market with practical solutions designed to meet the real needs of construction sites, design and fire safety.
The achievement of ETA 26/0091 for AF GRAPHIT FOAM therefore represents another step forward in AF Systems’ growth path and strengthens our role as a technical partner for designers, contractors and professionals committed to creating safer buildings.
