AF Systems at IUT Aix-Marseille: training the Fire Protection Professionals of tomorrow
On June 12, AF Systems will be at the IUT University of Aix-Marseille to host a technical seminar for students and future professionals in the field. In collaboration with our partner Gael Blanc from Matherm FP, we will explore the fundamental principles of fire prevention and protection before addressing the topic of fire compartmentation. We will then delve deeper into the sealing of openings and the specific solutions that form the core of our business.
Finally, we will offer students a brief practical demonstration to help them better understand the concepts.
Specifically, we will discuss:
- Fire prevention: why is it important?
- Fire compartmentation: what are the key factors for it to be truly effective?
- Structural protection: why protect?
- Openings and solutions: concrete examples of what to do and what not to do
- Certifications: what documents are required by regulations?
- Digital solutions: how to effectively tackle the challenge of BIM design?
This initiative is part of a program of events through which we promote, across Europe, the culture of passive fire protection, which serves as the first line of defense and the last line of defense when all else has failed. The goal is to ensure that this topic is not reduced to a mere list of minimum requirements for compliance with a standard, but is instead viewed as a field in which engineers, architects, and industry professionals can, thanks to their expertise, realize their full potential and deliver tangible safety benefits within the constraints of allocated budgets.
